GCSE Media Studies
Media Studies is the study of how a variety of media is constructed, what is communicated, how it appeals to audiences, how it changes in regards to technological developments and the role media industries play in all these areas. As well as this, it will enable students to develop a wider understanding and appreciation of the media in both a historical and contemporary context.
This is an engaging and exciting, yet challenging course which will enable students to explore a range of media forms such as television, advertising, film, video games, newspapers, magazines, radio, the internet and music videos. Students will develop analytical skills similar to those that used in English and students will have the opportunity to develop practical skills.
Media Studies should inspire students to continue learning beyond the classroom as well as developing personal and interpersonal skills which will serve them well both in Higher Education and in the workplace.
